As the semester long project of a Graphic Design class, students were partnered with a West Philadelphia community arts center to conceive a logo and brand re-design.
The first step in the process was to meet with the executive director of the Community Education Center and learn their brand story–how the CEC was established as a non-profit organization in 1973 by local community members to promote shared artistic experiences and nurture fellowship among the varied cultural populations of West Philadelphia. From there, students began brainstorming and drafting their own logos that would better represent the CEC, and after eight weeks of critique and revisions, students were able to present their branding package to board members of the CEC and Philadelphia city council members.
